Easy

If you are able to dial a telephone number, you are able to use topID. And would you like to gain access on another platform than your smartphone, just scanning a QR-code would do the trick. It doesn't get more complicated than this. Were you to use a PIN instead of a username, you even don't need to be able to master a language.

topID was designed with ease of use as key. Safety that is not easy to use, will promote unsafe behaviour, because no one has the patience to use this safety in the right way. It is not enough to provide safety, it has to be easily deployable too. That's why topID uses 'reverse token' technology, so you stay at the helm.

Safe

Safety knows levels. Its first level is based on something you know. That's not that safe at all, because you cannot determine if this knowledge isn't been used by someone else. There are still people out there who have taped a little note containing their username and password on the bottom of their keyboards... This is called 1FA: One Factor Authentication.

It is getting better when you not only need to know something, but must have something as well. In which case reading the note on the bottom of the keyboard won't suffice to gain access, because you need to have something too. This we call 2FA: Two Factor Authentication

Safer still would be when you not only would need to know and to have something, but be something as well. This can be achieved using biometrics: measuring properties that are inherently yours. This all combined we call the third level or MFA: Multi Factor Authentication.

topID offers scalable safety by deploying one or more of these levels, depending on the situation. And if the situation changes, it's easy to scale up.

Independent

Independence is something we all strive for. Not having freedom of choice is a horror for most of us. This goes for systems that force you to install something additionally too, like a app, or a third party app like Authenticator. This is especially annoying when your smartphone is managed by a third party, that forbids you to install anything, while you still have need for the service.

Independence at a different level is key to organisations as well. If different channels are used to provide your service or product, like a smart TV, a mobile app, a website, it is not only a treat for your users to be able to gain access in the same way, but for your developers too. Standardisation helps to keep management transparent.
